Pivoting EU Hydrogen Strategies
A Climate and Technology-Neutral Pathway to a Competitive Ammonia Sector
Date: 23 June
Time: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Venue: Business & Science Poland, Rue Belliard 40, 1040 Brussels
Moderation: Rebecca Gualandi, Carbon Pulse
Business & Science Poland, in partnership with Instrat, invites policymakers, industry representatives and stakeholders to a discussion on the future of EU hydrogen policy and its implications for the ammonia sector.
What strategy should the EU adopt for the hydrogen and ammonia sectors? The debate is intensifying among governments, industry, and civil society as the European Commission announced in its recent Accelerate EU strategy of a revision of the RFNBO rules in 2026. As these regulations have major implications for the ammonia sector and Central European economies, detailed, evidence-based impact assessments must play a central role in the discussion.
During the event, Instrat will present the findings of its new policy paper on hydrogen and ammonia decarbonisation. Drawing on high-resolution energy modelling, the study assesses the cost and emissions impacts of different regulatory approaches and proposes targeted adjustments to the EU hydrogen framework.
The presentation will be followed by discussions with Members of the European Parliament and experts in the fields of hydrogen and the fertiliser industry.
A preview of the preliminary findings from the policy paper is available via the link.
Join us on June 23 in Brussels.
