21 May 2025 in Brussels a conference on the future of the European aviation sector was held, organized under the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU by Central Communication Port, LOT Polish Airlines and Business & Science Poland.
The event was attended by representatives of European institutions, industry organisations and aviation market leaders who highlighted the strategic importance of investment in aviation infrastructure for the economic resilience and competitiveness of the EU. Attention was drawn to the challenges of increasing climate requirements and unfair competition from non-Union carriers, particularly in the context of the costs of green transition and the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Key demands included: including aviation in EU support programmes (Clean Industrial Deal, Sustainable Transport Investment Plan), ensuring competitive equality, creating dedicated funds to support the decarbonisation of the sector and countering further tightening of climate regulation without adequate support mechanisms.
